RE: COVID-19 – HELP IN THE COUNTY
I am writing to express my thanks for the support and help that you are offering during these challenging times. I have been so pleased to read and hear of all the good work going on in your area and how people have risen to this challenge.
I am aware that there are many individuals and groups going above and beyond what might be expected of them. I would normally be spending a significant part of my time visiting organisations, businesses and charities to recognise and acknowledge their contributions being made in the County. I can still do some of this remotely and sending letters, emails and videos offering support, encouragement, thanks or condolence.
The time will come during what may be a busy recovery period when there will be opportunities to recognise these people and I would like your help please in the hope that we are able to identify as many people or organisations as possible. We owe it to our people that Warwickshire’s achievements are properly recognised, whether this is through the National Honours and Awards system or more local initiatives. I would welcome ideas and suggestions as to how recognition beyond the National Honours system might be made.
The National Nomination process for personal Honours is: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nominate-someone-for-a-uk-nationalhonour
The National Nomination process for charities is: https://www.gov.uk/queens-award-for-voluntary-service
The National Nomination process for businesses is: https://www.gov.uk/queens-awards-for-enterprise
I would be very grateful if you could circulate this letter widely please.
I send my best wishes and I hope that you and your family and friends stay safe and well.
T B COX LORD LIEUTENANT OF WARWICKSHIRE
